I found Kathys book How a Woman Can Learn to Make $$ Money on the Internet... on her website,women-on-the-net. I was desperately searching for information and support to get my own website going. I recently retired, June 2007, from teaching High School for 32 years and retired to Maui. Worried about the high cost of living and being on a fixed income, I decided to start an online business created from the things I loved most, was good at, and most of all believed in. In one of the first chapters, Kathy talks about determination, drive, passion, and emotional investment . That was exactly what I needed to hear. I knew I had made the right choice in my business, and I knew that this book was what I needed to help me through the next few step on my website. I give away free websites and sell website toolkits to help women promote online businesses and generate their own income. At the same time, I generate information for women on rape awareness and womens health.
I am a Black Belt in karate and sell pepper spray as well. I also sell Chinese/Kanji Symbols and a Woodstock Peace Sign for the Woman Who Has Something to Say.
I already had my site up but I decided to see if I had missed anything. I decided to use the book as checklist. Its easy reading so it is worth starting at the beginning even if you have a site. What I think is good to know, is that I have Kathys book in a 3 ring binder. I have taken out the pages that I am currently using and keep them in the file next to me so I can grab them at any given moment. Thats how often I use them. What I am currently focusing on from Kathys book, is the content, keywords and Adsense! I have collected great articles including hers. Keywords have helped me get great ads
from Adsense which I have recently started. Very exciting!! Another extremely helpful tip was the logo on every page. I had a title on every page, but I did not have my logo on the pages until I read Kathys book. The two chores ahead of me that I see the most challenging are writing articles and requesting other sites to link me to their sites.
However, Kathy gives all sorts of advice and links to conquer these
concerns as well!
