How to Write an Effective Ezine Article
By Lee Cole

If you're going to be a successful internet marketer, you need to know how to write an effective ezine article. Articles published on article databases, such as EzineArticles, are a fabulous way of getting highly targeted traffic to your website. You know, the kind of traffic that converts to sales! This is definitely a skill you need!

The only problem is this. For some people, writing comes naturally. For others it's like pulling teeth. If you're more in the last group than the first, there's some good news.

You don't have to be Ernest Hemingway, or even a world-class copywriter, to write effective ezine type articles for internet marketing. All you really have to do is to learn to write in a way that clearly explains whatever your message is. That's not as hard as it sounds.

It helps a lot of have a plan for your article. There are several general ways to write articles, but one of the best (and easiest) is to pose a question, then provide the answer. Asking a question engages the reader. Answering it shows the reader that you have some sort of expertise. That you're someone they can learn from. If your purpose is to use the article to drive traffic to a website where you're either selling an affiliate product or your own product, it helps for the reader to think you're an expert. It establishes your credibility.

Okay, if you're going to use this question-answer model for your article, you need appealing questions. If your market is something that you actually know about and have experience with (It should be, you know!), then you can draw your questions from your own experience. Write about problems you've solved, or solutions you've found out about from someone else.

How do you know if your question (or topic) will interest your reader?

Generally, if you're truly interested in a market, then whatever questions you've solved, or problems you've had will appeal to others interested in the same market. It amazes me how often we all have the same problems and the same stumbling blocks in similar situations. So, if you're interested in your topic, then you can be pretty sure others will be, too.

Other than the general structure of the article, just write like you speak. The only really important thing here is to write in complete sentences-for the most part. And to have correct spelling and word choice.

If your finished product doesn't sound like an essay for school, then so much the better. Readers respond well to writers who are authentic. As a matter of fact, part of what drives the Net in the first place is people trying to find authentic, real information that can better their lives.

The most important part about writing well is to practice. I write several articles a day, plus lots of other stuff-blog posts, content for my sites, ebooks, etc. The more you write, the better you're going to get.

What you need to do is just relax and understand that all you're trying to do is to communicate something of interest to someone else.
