Choosing An Income Generating Niche
By Mike Hagerty

Anyone who is delving into the world of Internet marketing these days is haunted by these words "choose a niche". Most all then reply, "but what niche should I choose"?

Well let's see, at the last count I think there were somewhere around 10 bazillion different ones to choose from, (OK maybe not 10 bazillion, but close). So how do you choose your "niche"?

a. You can ask 100 different people and you will get 100 different answers.

b. You can sit back and think about what you really enjoy or love to do. In other words what's your passion?

When someone asks me for recommendations about choosing a niche I say this. "If you had all the money you could ever need and didn't have to work another day for the rest of your life, what would you do"? Travel the world teeing off at the worlds most famous golf courses? Maybe you would head over to the Great Barrier Reef and dive for months amongst the corals and reefs. Or buy that dream sailboat and sail the seven seas?

The point of this is that if you love something, I mean really love something. Most likely there are a lot of other people that do as well. Maybe you like collecting stamps from all over the world. Or something as simple as grabbing your backpack and tent and heading out into the woods for a week of exploring the wilderness. It doesn't matter what your passion is.

My dad once told me something I'll never forget. He said, "Mike, you can have the highest paying job on the planet, but if you don't enjoy doing it, you're going to be miserable not matter how much they pay you".

He then went on to say, "But if you can find a job doing something that you love, something you get out of bed in the morning and look forward to doing, and you can get paid for it at the same time, there's nothing better in the world.

So think about it for a while, what do you really enjoy doing? Chances are there are quite a few others who share your passion. And when people are passionate about something, whether it's their pet, or their baseball card collection, or preparing cuisine's from far away lands,or whatever it may be, they are willing to pay for more information about that passion.
