Make Money Online in 30 Days or Less, on a Budget
By Kathy Wilson
Moms have a tremendous ability in today’s economy to make money online. The skills you learn being a parent can be offered as high demand information online today. You can teach others what you have learned along your life’s path, and use several techniques to profit from it. I know, I have built several profitable online businesses around skills I learned just being a stay at home mom! And no, you don’t have to have a degree, lots of money or consider yourself an expert to do it.
Step One: Choose a topic and build a website. How do you pick an informational topic to teach people about online? Easy...find a popular parenting problem that you have overcome. Do you know how to give great children’s birthday parties? Overcome tight budget crunches? Raised teenagers and lived to tell? Or maybe you have more specialized experience, like you are a fantastic vegetable gardener or know how to build killer birdhouses from that Cub Scout badge. Brainstorm all the talents you use in daily life as a Mom, and then choose one where the demand for information is great.
Build a simple drag and drop website. You can find information on what company we recommend and how to go about it at our Women on the Net website.
Add content! Content is what all web surfers are looking for, and if you want to distinguish yourself from your competitors, then give them what they want! Add articles you write or get from article banks, (or both) and be proactive in talking with people on message boards to find out what information they really need, not just what you think they need. Good content will make the search engines happy, allow other websites to recommend you, and will keep your readers coming back for more.
Step Two: Monetize your site. That is, figure out how you will make money from it. Although there are many ways to profit from a website, its best to add one at a time. Once you master that form of income, move onto the next. My top three choices for beginners including advertising income (including Google Adsense), affiliate income, (where you sell others products for a percentage of the sale ) and selling your own informational product, such as an ebook or report.
You can start by adding Google Adsense to your pages and earning advertising income there until you build enough traffic to attract private advertisers.
Choose one good affiliate product, and concentrate on it instead of trying to recommend too many at a time. Find a product well suited to your readership. Amazon has a great affiliate program for beginners.
Work on ideas for an informational product your readers need, and write articles related to it. You can reprint the articles later in organized form in the ebook.
Step Three: Market! To make money, you have to have traffic. To get traffic, you have to get word of your website out to the masses! The fastest way to start getting traffic is article marketing. Write up a couple of articles on your topic of interest each week, and submit them to webmasters with like minded websites. Then add them to article banks as well.
Make sure you have a free newsletter for your readers to sign up to, and publish it regularly to market new products, articles and information to keep your readers active.
Finally, once you get started on the three steps to making money, you must make it a commitment. Keep building the site with good content, and keep looking for new ways to monetize it. Once you have your website well established and making money, you can take these same steps and start over again with a new site in a new topic, or continue expanding your chosen site.
Don’t ever underestimate the power of a Mom’s knowledge. You DO have the skills AND the knowledge to build your own online business, using what you already know! And you can do it on a budget!
